Handmade 00-size Catalog / Depression Style Acoustic Guitar. Lightweight blues machine designed for raw fundamental tone, quick note decay, and incredible note separation. It is not meant to sound like a lush, modern overtone-heavy Martin, but it punches out just as loud as a standard Yamaha dreadnought. Great for blues and Jimmy Rogers style accompaniment. Flatsawn white pine top with a clean, classic rosette ring. Built with traditional ladder-bracing to capture that authentic pre-war thumpy compression. Highly figured cherry sapwood back, neck, and sides, stained to perfectly match a rich, dark mahogany look. 12-fret neck attached with a traditional, rock-solid tapered sliding dovetail joint. Features a chunky, historic boatneck profile with a flat fretboard. Blackened oak fretboard and matching blackened oak bridge. Built with a wide 1 7/8" ebony nut and a matching ebony saddle with a wide 2 3/8" string spacing for a vintage wide feel - great for larger fingers. Finished with an ultra-thin, wiped-on thinned polyurethane for a completely smooth, slick satin look and feel that protects the wood without suffocating the vibration of the pine top. Custom osage orange bridge pins. Features a single strap button in the endpin area, with the upper end of the strap traditionally tied around the headstock nut area with a shoestring. Currently set up with medium action and a heavy set of 14-59 phosphor bronze strings over the short 23.5" scale length. It is remarkably bassy for its size, highly resonant, and plays completely clean with no buzzing in the first and second positions.
Because commercial spring capos have an built-in radius, they cannot evenly fret a traditional flat fretboard and will miss the middle strings. This guitar comes included with a custom-made steel screw-clamp capo fabricated specifically to match this guitar’s flat profile perfectly.

$700. Local pick-up preferred, or I am happy to drive a reasonable distance to meet a serious buyer halfway if you are a little further away. I would highly prefer not to deal with the mail, but I can box it up securely with a custom plywood face-shield to protect the acoustic top if shipping is absolutely required.
