Handmade Danelectro Silvertone 1373 U2 6-String Bass Guitar. Tuned E-e, an octave below standard guitar, not baritone B-b or A-a. Scratch-built body, neck, bridge, and pickups. Typical Danelectro Masonite/Pine/Masonite body construction with maple and walnut neck. 30" scale. Polyurethaned body with painted on side binding - more durable than original Danelectro cloth binding. Oil-finished neck with slick feel for easy sliding. Neck joint tight and extended pocket keeps neck in place. 1 5/8" nut, 2 1/8" bridge spacing for tight guitar-like feel. Set up with Fender Super 250 24-100 nickel-wound roundwound strings with tight but bendable feel. Medium action. Danelectro-style, handmade pickups wound to vintage Danelectro spec instead of too-hot modern specs to preserve bright, bell-like response. Simple master volume and tone controls instead of finicky stacked setup. Standard Danelectro switch wiring with series middle position. Picked bass great for tic-tac, bright basslines, and Glen Campbell and Beach Boys solos.

$700. Local pick-up preferred, or I am happy to drive a reasonable distance to meet a serious buyer halfway if you are a little further away. I would rather not deal with the hassle of the mail, but I can box it up securely (with custom plywood face protection) if shipping is absolutely required.
